The Candoo Club is a lunchtime club which is run by some of the KS2 teaching assistants.
We started our club in 2012.
We do craft activities and make lots of things which the children can take home.
Children from year 3 upwards can take part and we make sure everyone gets a go!
At the end of the school year, we throw a big party which all of our members can come to.
We have lots of fun and sometimes get very messy!
Look at the beautiful dolls we made.
They took lots of time and patience but were worth it in the end!
We used different types of stitches to make all the parts of the dolls and their clothes.
Here are some of the Christmas crafts we made.
We always make some special decorations to go on our Christmas tree in school,
as well as something special for the children to take home.
At Easter we wove baskets from art straws, then decorated them with all things Easter!
We also made little Humpty Dumpty egg cups from clay, but luckily for us he stayed on his wall!
The Easter bunny was very generous and left us some gifts in our baskets too.
Making papier mache plates was one of our messiest activities, but great fun!
We each made a personalized plate which we designed ourselves,
as well as a special plate to celebrate the Queen's 60th jubilee.
In September we had our bookworm bonanza!
We made our own bookmarks using cross-stitch, a pencil pot from clay
and covered our very own secret diary (no peeking adults!!)
We had a teddy bear's picnic with our amazing hand-stitched bears.
They all had their own special clothes and were very soft and cuddly!
In April we made creepy crawly pictures using balsa wood.
We had to be very careful when using a saw!
