Lesson 6 – To recycle the story of the ‘Three Billy Goats Gruff’

 

Warm-up Writing Task- Heroes and villains 

Think about the variety of characters you have met during our work on 'Traditional Tales'.

Write a list of good characters (heroes) and a list of bad characters (villains). 

Write a sentence about which is your favourite and why. 

 

If you have a pack, there will be a worksheet in there for this - it has pictures of characters in boxes for you to sort into good and bad.

Writing Task 2 - Write about the character you have created today or write about a character of your choice.

What are they like and how can you tell? How do they behave? What do they do? 

 

Here are some sentence starters to start you off.

e.g. The biggest Billy Goat is smart because he is the oldest. 

e.g. The middle-sized Billy Goat is sneaky because she tricks the troll.

e.g. I think he is good at flying because he's got the biggest wings.

  • We know that the tinsel town dragon likes gold and sparkly things.

  • Draw pictures of the things she might like and write a sentence for each joined with the word and.

Writing Task - Add the suffic -ed and -ing to the action words (verbs)

Remember an action word that ends in ‘ed’ tells us that it has already happened.

Remember an action word that ends in ‘ing’ says that it is happening right now.
