The Reception and Nursery children were fantastic performing and singing in our Christmas play 'A wriggly nativity'. The children who had speaking parts were all superstars and were very brave standing up and speaking in front of the huge audience of mummies, daddies and family members.
We are very proud of you all. Well done and Merry Christmas!
How we became Kindness Ninjas!
As part of Anti-bullying week (11-15th November) and World Kindness Day we celebrated the act of kindness by becoming kindness ninjas! The Kindness Warrior set us a challenge to be more kind. We took the kindness pledge and signed up for the challenge with our fingerprint.
We read lots of books about kindness and talked about what kindness meant to us. We wrote positive words of kindness and carried out random acts of kindness (RAK) across the school.
We applied our core values of respect and compassion by extending our kind acts to the wider community. The children baked buns and we walked to the local care home. The children were so polite and friendly to the elderly residents. We chatted together and shared the buns we made. We also sang nursery rhymes together.
Autumn Outdoor Learning
On Tuesday 22nd October 2019, local land artist James Brunt came to work with the Reception and Nursery children. He inspired the children to create natural outdoor art.
The children were encouraged to notice and search for the beautiful, colourful natural resources that the season of autumn provides. James worked with the children to create a spiral. They all thoroughly enjoyed the process of collecting the natural resources.
Settling in to Reception
We have enjoyed settling in to our new classroom and exploring our outdoor area. We have had lots of fun getting to know our teachers and making new friends.
