The home corner is where children can act out experiences from home and develop their imagination. We like to add different textures, lighting and interesting domestic role play artefacts to develop their play and curiosity.
When the children showed an interest in playing doctors, we added some resources for them to explore. We played with them, developing language and knowledge around the theme. 🩺💉🩹
Often the kitchen becomes a cafe, where orders are taken and prepared. A great way for children to do some purposeful mark making, and take on different roles. Adding boxes and containers with familiar print on, along with take away menus, develops those early reading skills.
