Home Learning Websites & Resources.

All websites below provide either online interactive resources for children to use at home or downloadable packs. I recommend that children use the exercise book which was sent home recently to complete activities in. Of course, if you have a printer then feel free to print resources off but some of the files are rather large.

Maths.

English.

Science.

Computing (including all subject areas).

  • www.purplemash.com has a huge array of games and resources for many subjects. I will be setting a number of 2dos each week for children to have a go at. They will relate to a number of different subjects. Children should have their Purple Mash logins glued into the front page of their home exercise books.

Music.

  • https://charanga.com/site/log-in/ - Charanga music. If you would like to receive your username and password for this website, then please email me directly and I will send you the required credentials. I have already set a unit of work for this so if you like your music, get in touch!

News.

Outdoor Learning.

Anything else/Mixed subject learning.

If you find any exciting or interesting resources online which you think the class might enjoy using, send us an email and we can add to it our ever-growing list of home learning things to do!

Ongoing learning and activities

Things you can be doing to keep busy and to keep those brain muscles working:

  • Ed Shed- (spelling and maths shed)- logins are stuck into the exercise book that you have been given.
  • Assignments will be posted on Ed Shed which you may want to have a go at.
  • TT Rockstars
  • Spelling words from the curriculum list– these have been sent home already
  • Read stories of your choice - remember to keep finding out the meaning of unfamiliar words. Log them in your exercise book. I have also set up a blog page on Purple Mash for you to share any recommendations and reviews.
  • Project - take the time away to complete a project on a subject of your choice. The outcome is up to you. If it is written, please remember the joins, spelling and punctuation. However, it can be creative e.g. a model, sculpture, painting, PowerPoint presentation etc...

If you want to you could share this when we return.

  • I will publish further work as we go along that you can do to practise key skills and to help retrieve key learning.

And don't forget to keep active!! Try Go noodle - https://www.gonoodle.com

or for something a little gentler try Cosmic Kids yoga - https://www.cosmickids.com

If you have any questions or queries you can contact me at vanessaw@highfieldhall.derbyshire.sch.uk and I will do my best to answer you. Please appreciate you may not get an immediate reply but I will answer within couple of days. Keep smiling! (Miss Gleadall has also provided her email address on this page)

Sending happy thoughts...

Message from Mrs Wood

Hi everybody - hope you are all staying safe. Missing you all! I've been keeping busy whilst we are not at school trying to think of exciting things to do when we all return and having lots of family time. Amelia and Liam keep me busy, as does my dog Patch and I have been working in school with the key worker children as well. We have been having lots of fun!

I've been baking (yum) - the apple traybake with the last of the apples from the tree was delicious! The seeds we planted are growing well and hopefully we will have some tasty vegetables this summer! We've also had lots of making and board game time - hama beads were a big hit (but get everywhere!). I made a rainbow pom pom hanger for my window too. We had lots of fun over Easter with Easter Egg hunts and camping out (and in).

Would love to see and hear what you have all been up to.

Love Mrs Wood

Bella's 1st Birthday & Bertie's 4th!
