Mr Gruffydd - DavidG@highfieldhall.derbyshire.sch.uk
Suggested tasks:
The below is an optional plan and we are not expecting for you to do all of it, unless you really wanted to. We very much appreciate that you may have more than one child at home, juggling home-schooling with working from home, limited computers for you all to access. Having a mix of on screen and off/ non screen activities is absolutely fine and we very much promote baking, crafting, creating, playing and having fun!!

Mon |
http://www.massobs.org.uk/write-for-us/12th-may Have a look at the website above to find out about the Mass Observation Day Survey. This is something we have decided to take part in as a school. We are asking you to write a dairy entry for 12th May so to prepare for this look at: https://youtu.be/Re0pCqUZu9w to remind yourself of the features of recounts. |
Tues |
Today is the day we would like you to record for the Mass Observation Survey. Make notes (bullet points are ideal) on everything you do today from the moment you wake up until you go to bed at night. You can include: any activities you do, what you eat and drink, where you go (if anywhere) and generally what you spend your time doing. Keep these notes safe for tomorrow. |
Weds |
Use your notes from yesterday to write your diary entry. Ideally, diaries should be in electronic form (typed up in Word if possible) and sent to: sophieu6@highfieldhall.derbyshire.sch.uk
If you are happy for your diary entry to be sent off to be included in the archive then you need to follow these instructions:
Please don’t include your real name, contact details, or the personal details of the people mentioned in your diary. Please remember that these diaries will be read and used for research and teaching, so please don’t include anything that may identify you or others. You should include your age and where you live (it is fine to just put Chesterfield) So that your diary can be added to the rest of the Archive for the future, please include the statement below at the end of your diary. If you don’t attach this statement, we won’t be able to keep your diary or make it part of the Archive.
“I donate my 12th May diary to the Mass Observation Archive. I consent to it being made publicly available as part of the Archive and assign my copyright in the diary to the Mass Observation Archive Trustees so that it can be reproduced in full or in part on websites, in publications and in broadcasts as approved by the Mass Observation Trustees. I agree to the Mass Observation Archive assuming the role of Data Controller and the Archive will be responsible for the collection and processing of personal data and ensuring that such data complies with the DPA.” |
Thurs |
Writing a recount: You could use this as an opportunity to edit your diary from yesterday before sending it? There is also a diary checklist included on our class page.
