This term we have been learning about the Christian Christmas story, during our topic lessons and our RE lessons.
We have made paper puppets, retold the story to our partners and wrote the story out. Thinking about the order of the story and adding as much detail as possible.
We looked at what a script is and features of a script. Highlighting all the different features. E.g. stage directions etc.
We used a script to re-tell a version of the Nativity called "A bundle of joy" and filmed it for our adults. We had great fun rehearsing and dressing up as our characters.
We watched our nativity play and wrote a review.
We each brought in a plastic bottle, and designed our own character from the play so we could make a class nativity scene to decorate our classroom ready for Christmas. We thought about what materials we could add to our plastic bottle to make out character out of. e.g. card, paper, foil, etc.
We evaluated our characters, we thought about what we found difficult and how we would change it next time.
We thought about what Christmas really meant and wrote letter to Santa. Lots of us asked him to bring something for someone else, some of us asked for a happy Christmas for everyone!
