Nursery: Mrs Briddon

The Royal Wedding

We celebrated the marriage of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in true British style-with a street party! And no royal wedding celebration would be complete without cucumber sandwiches and cake, and of course the group photograph.

A very special day!

The Highfield Cafe

We invited our families into the Nursery when it became a cafe. We took orders, fetched home-made buns and drinks, and collected payments.

What a busy day!

Mud, Mud, Glorious Mud!

We loved getting muddy with Miss Lane and Mr Webster on Mud Day.

We made potions with mud and pot pourri in the mud kitchen. And felt the mud squelch between our toes!

Mud play has great therapeutic benefits for young children, and it’s a free resource. Go to communityplaythings.com and read their article about playing in marvellous mud.

Our greenhouse is finished! Thank you to everyone who brought in bottles, and to Chesterfield Rotary Club for organising it all and putting it together in the cold!
We christened the greenhouse by planting beans.

Kung Hey Fat Choi!

The Nursery children enjoyed celebrating Chinese New Year. They took part in a workshop with Shuai, who taught them the Chinese Lion dance, waving ribbons and playing instruments.

We tried Chinese food, and then paraded around the school to show our Lion Dance to everyone.

Bedtime Stories

The bedtime story session was lovely! Children enjoyed sharing books with their parents before their supper- milk and a chocolate biscuit. Back in Nursery we shared “Can't You Sleep Little Bear?” snuggled up by candlelight, and then we were ready for bed. Zzzzzzz...

Bulb Planting

Once again we went to help the Friends of Stand Road Park to plant daffodil bulbs. Everyone joined in to plant over 1000 bulbs! We'll be going down in the Spring to see them in bloom.

Thank you to everyone who came to help!
Happy Halloween!
The Story Of Rama and Sita
Rama and Sita went to live in the forest.
Rama chased the golden deer.
The old man was really a ten-headed demon! He captured Sita.
The king of the flying monkeys helped Rama to find Sita.
The ten-headed demon was killed! Rama and Sita were back together again!
The people lit candles to light the way home for Rama and Sita. This celebration is called Diwali-the Festival of Lights.

It's good to be back!

We're enjoying being back at Nursery with some old friends...and some new ones! We've been busy inside and out, having lots of fun at different activities.
