Phonics and SPAG
Phonics is taught several times a week in Year 2, we use the Phonics International scheme. Your child’s phonics folder will be in their table box, feel free to look through this so you can see which codes we have been working on. To complement this you could encourage your child to play games on sites such as Phonics Play. There are a number of free games, however they do not all work on mobile devices.
We have been practicing our spellings. One sunny morning we went outside with chalk and carefully wrote our spelling words over and over.
We also like to play this game when learning and practicing our spellings...we write them on each other’s back and have to guess what the word is! It’s so much fun and helps us to learn.
