In Science we have been learning about the properties of different materials. We have been thinking about which materials are appropriate for different tasks and products.
We used what we had learnt when we were planning our vehicles in Design Technology.
Wood is strong and does not bend so it will work well for the wheels and axles.
Card is stronger than paper. We know that many real vehicles are made of metal but they are made in a factory.
We decided that card would be best because we can draw on it easily and we can fold and bend it to make the shape of the vehicle's body.
For the chassis we decided to use wood with card on the top and the bottom to make it even stronger at the corners.
Look at out wonderful vehicles. Traction Man and Scrubbing Brush will enjoy travelling in them when they go on their next mission I'm sure.
