The Very Hungry Caterpillar

(Activity packs will be available from Wednesday 24^th February in the outdoor classroom)

• Read the story if you have it, or watch it here

• Talk about the story and what happens to the caterpillar. Sequence the life cycle of a butterfly-print a cut and stick activity of find it in the activity pack

• Talk about the days of the week-can you learn them off by heart?
• Make a fruit number line-you could print with fruit or cut out fruit shapes, or draw the fruit, eg 1 apple, 2 pears
• Make your own Very Hungry Caterpillar book. It doesn’t have to be the same! What different things could the caterpillar eat?
• Make a fingerprint caterpillar with paint
• Cut out circles and make a caterpillar. You could make a number caterpillar, or one with your child’s name on-a letter on each circle
• Make handprint butterflies, either by printing with paint or drawing round and cutting out hands
• Make paper plate and lollipop stick butterflies
• Make egg carton caterpillars
• Go on a minibeast hunt. What minibeasts can you find?
