Week 15

Last week we were thinking about the things plants 🌱 need to grow ☀️💦. This week we are learning about the different parts of a plant and the steps we can take to grow a plant.

Listen to the story of Jasper's Beanstalk. Jasper the cat 🐱wants to grow a beanstalk. He plants a bean and he takes great care of it as he watches and waits to see if it will grow.

After you have listened to the story Jasper’s Beanstalk, you could use the diary template to write about what Jasper did each day or you could write about what you do each day.

How can we grow a plant?

Could you have a go at writing instructions on how to grow a plant using the words in the picture beneath to help you?

What are the parts of a plant?

Do you know what we call the different parts of a plant? Click on the picture below to watch a video to find out more about the parts of a plant and why these parts are important. After you have watched the video there is a quiz to take to see what you can remember!

Can you have a go at drawing your own picture of a plant 🌷. You could write labels ✏️ for the different parts like in the example below.

This week you will be solving lots of Maths problems based on the story of Oliver’s Vegetables. Click on images for the link to the maths activities.
