Art - Who is in your family? Draw a picture of the people in your family on paper or on the Paint Project on Purple Mash called 'My Family'.
Label them my mum, my brother, my dad, my gran etc. These do not need capital letters because many of you have mums, dads, stepdads, stepmothers and aunties and this is not their proper name. In Purple Mash you can drag the words from the word bank.
Then label the people using capital letters for their names e.g. Steve. Kim, Dogger. In Purple Mash you can type names of your own under the word bank where it says abc.

Maths - Data detectives Collect data about people in your house.
What is the most common colour of hair in your house? What is the most common eye colour in your house? What is their favourite colour? What is their favourite sport? What is their favourite food? What it their favourite animal?
Ask them to collect this and place in a tally chart or make a bar chart together on paper or on the computer.
They could make do this on the computer using the Purple Mash Tool '2Count' You can change the car pictures at the bottom to other clip art pictures e.g. sports, different eye types, animals etc.
You could turn your data into a bar graph using '2Graph'

Writing - All about me You can use a your exercise book and a pencil or pen for this task OR you can use the Purple Mash Writing Task called 'My Avatar'.
Who is in your family? I live with my ... Why are your family important? My family are important to me because... Do you have any pets? What are they called? I have a ....called.... Who are your friends? My friends are called.... Why are they important to you? My friends are very important to me because ... What are your hobbies? My favourite hobby is ... What sports do you play? I enjoy sports and they are important to me because...
Purple Mash Instructions If you are using Purple Mash you can hover over the words on the left to see prompts. If you click on the words on the left and it will start your sentences for you. To add a picture of yourself click on outline of the person. Click on the coloured wheel that appears in the corner. Use the paint tools to draw on top of the outline of the person. Click 'Ok'. Save your work. |

If you can, pause it where Dave might be feeling happy, scared, disappointed, sad, excited. Talk about Dave’s facial expressions. His expression makes his feelings very clear. Talk about how Dave feels about Dogger, about losing him and about Bella at different points in the story. How would they feel if Dogger was their toy? What do they think will happen next?
On your paper or on the Purple Mash activity, draw emojis to show Dave's different feelings.
