Over the next few weeks we are going to be learning all about minibeasts!
This week we are looking at butterflies. You could go on a butterfly hunt. I wonder how many you might find on your daily walk or outside in the garden? There are lots of different types of butterflies you can look out for. Have a look at the butterfly checklist below and see how many of these butterflies you can spot! We can’t wait to hear how many you find! You might even be able to take a photograph of a butterfly before it flies away!
Other activities
On Purple Mash you could have a go at painting your own butterfly or you could try painting and labelling a butterfly’s life cycle.
Maths
Can you find the answers to these number sentences to see what colours are on these beautiful butterflies 🦋?
Why not try making up your own addition activities... you could draw a butterfly with spots on each wing and add up how many spots it has altogether... you could make your own colour by number picture for your family to complete. You may not have cubes or counters at home to help you but you can use other things around the house; pencils, coins or even pasta!
There’s also some addition games on Maths Shed for you.
