Update from Miss Thring
Hello Reception, I hope you’ve all had a lovely Easter! I know I did.
This is what I’ve been up to over the last 2 weeks! Every Thursday I have a video call with my family. I miss them so much, just like I miss all of you! I also made a sign for my brother and his wife using wood. I baked an Easter surprise. It was delicious. When it’s sunny outside I love to go on my bike for a ride down the canal. When I’m out on my bike I am always looking out for beautiful nature, like flowers, different trees, mini beasts and other animals. I was so impressed with all the rainbows you made, so Look I made a rainbow to. I used the hand writing patterns That we learnt at school. I did some baking again but this time I tried my own hot cross buns. I delivered these to my families door steps. They where very pleased. I have used my bicycle everyday for my daily exercise and this week I saw a beautiful swan. Over the weekend we had some bananas that looked a little brown so I used them to make banana muffins. (I put chocolate chips in) they tasted super yummy. I then baked some chocolate cookies with my left over Easter eggs. I miss you all so very much and I can’t wait to see what else you have been doing. I keep checking the website to see all your pictures. But if you would like to contact me your grown ups can email me on kthring@highfieldhall.derbyshire.sch.uk
This week my niece did some baking and delivered it to my doorstep. She made jammy dodgers! So tasty. I’m now making a sign for my cousins door, for Christmas she got a pet cat called maisey. When I went down the canal on Tuesday I saw the first ducklings of the season. Can you count how many? They are so cute and fluffy. (Ps there are 10).
Keep safe everyone.

Update from Mrs Hayward
Hello, have you all had a good week?
We’ve had a bit of a quiet week this week and have enjoyed the sunshineโ๏ธ in the garden. My little boy has been learning all about butterflies this week too. We read the story of The Very Hungry Caterpillar ๐ and watched the film. Have you seen it? We did the life cycle activity on Purple Mash and then wanted to draw his own. I’ve seen some of your fantastic life cycle pictures on Purple Mash too. We’ve also done lots of bug hunting, we wanted to remember what we’d found so we made a tally chart. Can you see what bugs ๐ we found the most of?
This week I was really happy to be able to speak to some of you on the phone ๐. I really loved hearing about the things you have been doing, the walks you’ve been on and the games you’ve been playing. It was also great to hear that some of you are able to talk to each other on the phone or video calling. It would be lovely to hear from more of you so if you’d like us to phone you too then email ๐ง us and ask for a phone call!
I look forward to seeing your photos and hearing about the adventures you’ve had this week.
Miss you,
Lots of love,
Mrs Hayward xxx
Update from Mrs Coles
Hi everyone! I hope you have had a good week and have been enjoying the sunshine โ๏ธ.
I loved speaking to lots of you on the telephone earlier in the week... it was so nice to hear your voices! If you would like a phone call ๐ to say ’Hello’, then please email me!
We have a new member of the Coles family..... meet our puppy. ๐ถ
She’s been keeping us all very busy. We have been training her to go to the toilet in the garden and making sure there are no holes that she can escape from. She’s not had all her injections yet so can’t go outside for a walk. We’ve made sure she feels happy and safe, we’ve been playing with her and making sure she has food and water. It’s hard work looking after a puppy.... but it’s worth it and we love her very much! ๐งก
We have been for lots of bike rides..... I am very impressed that so many of you can now ride your bike without stabilisers ๐๐ผ๐ฒ.... well done!
We have spent lots of time in the garden and have been looking for butterflies. The boys have done some writing and phonics practise.... they wrote a book about our new puppy.
We love seeing what you have been up to, so please keep emailing me your updates. Check out what your friends have been doing this week below ๐๐ป
Lots of love, from Mrs Coles xx

We have been looking out for butterflies and spotted a few in the garden. Did you manage to spot any?
I can’t wait to hear how many you found!
