Moving to Year 1
Who are we?
The teachers are Mrs Wood on Mondays /Tuesdays and Mrs Martin on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
The TAs are Miss Lawless every day and Miss Evans.

Hello!
Here is a little bit of information about what to expect in Year 1. It was great to meet you all this week and share our dog stories Dirty Harry and Some Dogs Do. You can tell that Mrs Martin and Mrs Wood both love dogs!
We can't wait to see you all in September-all of us together in our classroom.
What time will I start and finish school?
We will start at 8.50am and we will line up at the bottom of the steps in front of the KS1 building so that we can go into class together.
School ends at 3:30pm for us and we will walk back to the steps to find our grown- ups.
Adults-Please wait on the football pitch–near the green goal posts until your child comes to you. Please do not allow children or siblings to play on the equipment in the outdoor area or near the classes. Thank you!
What do I need to bring to school?
You will need:
- your reading book
-a water bottle (plain water only) with a ‘sports’ cap.
-a healthy, nut free afternoon snack
- a book bag (no ruck sacks as we don’t have room to store them)
-a lunchbox if you are having sandwiches
Please make sure these are all clearly named.
When is PE?
PE will be on a Tuesday morning. Sometimes it will be in the hall and sometimes it will be outside. Please come to school in your PE kit and make sure that it is suitable for the weather as you will stay in this all day. Occasionally there will be other sporting events planned; we will let you know through the school app of any additional days PE kits are required.
Our Classroom
There will be table spaces and activities around the classroom and outside just as there are in your classroom now. There will be place to keep your book bag, and your water bottle and your sandwich bag if you have one.
Lunchtimes and Playtimes
We will still have a morning and an afternoon play and will play on the big playground with the Y2 and Y3 children.
Lunchtimes will be on the little playground with Y2 children.
Medication
Please bring any medication on your first morning with us with a completed medication form (there should be some of these in the outdoor classroom or you can download one from the website).
Please note that if the item is an inhaler, this will need signing in. Bring the inhaler and medical form to your waiting area and an adult will bring you the sign in sheet once all of the children have been taken into the classroom.
Come and meet us from a distance
This year Mrs Martin works in class Monday-Thursday morning and Mrs Wood Thursday afternoon-Friday. We finish at 3:30 are always on the playground or the top of the steps outside our building.
Come and give us a wave or catch us for a chat (when our current class have all been collected). We’d love to meet you!
