In Year 4 the children have the opportunity to take part in a 2-night residential trip to the Whitehall Outdoor Education Centre in Buxton.
The focus of the visit is team work, building confidence and making friends. The children take part in activities such as caving, climbing, stream and rock scrambling and taking on the challenge of the obstacle course and zip wires.
Another key theme of the visit is cooperation. The children help towards the running of the visit – they make their own beds and are expected to help set up and clear away in the dining room in preparation for meal times. The meals are served family style and the children help one another to serve out the food on the table.
The children really blossom as they get a chance to shine outside the classroom.
