The years have flown and how they've grown in confidence and poise.
They're out the place; we're left to face new classes and all their noise.
But it's time to go, go out and show they're more than well prepared.
When they look back along this track, hope they'll think of the fun we've shared!
From all our team, thank you for your support, kind words, cards and gifts! They're genuinely appreciated. Being part of your children's story has been a privilege.
Have a fantastic summer!
Remember you're awesome....
Hello Year 6 class and families!
Below is some information regarding the general school day. This follows the times our current class have.
The School Day
Our school day starts at 8:50am and we will line up outside the cloakroom entrance so that we can go into class together. School ends at 3:30pm for us and at this time we will go and meet parents / carers outside the cloakroom entrance to go home.
Everyone has their own space and their own pack of resources with the things used such as pencils, glue, rubber etc. Many children have brought in a small pencil case to keep their resources in. Please don't bring lots of things from home, just the things you need. For example your water bottle, snack, and reading book.
We still have a morning and an afternoon break and will play on the junior playground. There is a rota for the football pitch, basketball shooter etc...At lunchtime the children who have sandwiches eat in the classroom or outside if it is warm enough. School dinners are eaten in the hall and are called to go in when it is your time.
Our PE session is on a Wednesday - we will be outside wherever possible so please make sure you wear an appropriate kit on this day - t-shirt, joggers and a jumper and suitable footwear. Occasionally there will be other sporting events planned; we will let you know any additional days P.E. kits are required.
Swimming is on a Monday. Children swim alternate weeks.
We participated in timed challenges. There were no simplifications available. We dared enter the cube!
We’ve have completed the model making of fairground rides. The resilience, co-operation, determination and team work has really impressed us all. We’ve made excellent progress. Please look in the folder below to see our rides being tested.
Thank you to Kaavyaa and her family for sending in treats for us to try. The fenugreek and cumin spices were really tasty.
In our science work, we have designed and completed investigations into electrical circuits. We thought about the variables we could change and completed fair tests to see how they affected the components. Team work and co-operation were essential for this task.
