Important Information Y2

A little note from us

Hello and welcome to Year Two!! We are going to have fun learning even more this year. We hope you have had a lovely summer and we are really looking forward to seeing you all. We have been working hard making some changes to our classroom although a lot of things will still be familiar.

Start/end times

Our day starts at 8:50 and we finish at 3:30 as last year.
We will be in the same classroom.

Staff

The children will be taught by Miss Evans all day on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and also on Friday afternoon.
On Friday morning they will be taught by Mrs Hardy.
Miss Fulleylove, Mrs Cox and Mrs Evans will be there as well to help the children with their learning.

PE

This year will be on Friday morning this year.
Sometimes it will be in the hall and sometimes it will be outside.
Please come to school in your PE kit and make sure that it is suitable for the weather as you will stay in this all day. Your kit should be a white t-shirt, dark shorts or bottoms and sensible trainers.
Occasionally, there will be other sporting events planned which you will be informed of via one of our communication channels.

Swimming

This year you get the chance to go swimming.
Swimming will take place on Tuesday afternoons.
Swimming will not take place until Tuesday 13th of September.
The children will be in 2 groups for swimming and you will find out which group your child is in.
You will need to bring your swimming kit - (a one piece swimsuit/close fitting trunks, a towel and a swimming cap. (Swimming caps can be purchased from school)
All of these items need to be labelled with your child's name as do the items of clothing they come to school in so they can locate their own underwear and uniform easily.

What you need to bring each day

A book bag (no rucksacks please as we do not have room for them)
A small water bottle with a sports cap
Fruit or vegetables for snack in the afternoon. (Fruit/vegetables are still provided at morning break)
All snacks sent into school must not contain nuts or sesame nor traces of these due to allergies within school.
A lunchbox/bag if necessary.
We ask that toys stay at home or are taken home if they accompany you on your journey so that these are not lost or damaged.

Where will my things go?

Coats will go on pegs.
Swimming kits will be hung on pegs
Lunch bags and lunchboxes will go in the lunch drawers by your peg.
Snacks will go in the blue snack box
Water bottles will go in the basket with your table colour on it.
Your book bag will go in the drawer with you table colour on it.
Things you want to take home at the end of the day will go in the smaller tray with your table colour on it.
There is also a small basket for sun cream/hats and gloves when it is cold.
